Pretend that you are a person living in the southern colonies. Write a letter to the editor of a newspaper about the problem of slavery in the south. Your letter should include a description of your feelings about slavery, your reasoning for why it was unjust as well as your recommendation for how it could be fixed.
On a Google Doc, write a RHYMING acrostic poem using the word “PLANTATION.” Click for examples. Think about what role a plantation played in southern society, education, government, and farming. Each line in the poem should be a phrase or a sentence.
Write an interview with a recent immigrant who chose to settle in the southern colonies, rather than the middle or New England colonies.
